Screwdriver torque

Precise torque is very important for the exact alignment and subsequent tightening of the action screws on grand actions. This applies in particular to actions with ‘tubes’, aluminium bars or spring washers, such as those used by Renner in modern actions. The torque can be easily set from 1.0-5.0 Nm on the handle of the special torque wrench and read off the analogue scale.
The torque handle is supplied with a 300 mm long Pozidriv No. 2 blade. This is tapered at the front so that it is easy to get past the jacks when working on uprights.
The handle and blade are compatible with the PB-Swiss tool system. This means that all special blades from the Jahn piano maker screwdriver set, which we presented last month, can also be used.
The data at a glance:
- for screwing work with repeatable tightening torque (certified +/- 6%)
- for PB interchangeable blades
- Torque ranges 1.0-5.0 Nm
- 2-component handle with soft coating, comfortable handling
- Automatic release, supported by audible and perceptible click
- Rotatable cap with analogue scale, easily adjustable without tools
- with recalibration tool, for adjusting the scale during calibration
Jahn deliberately offers the tool with an analogue display. This is just as accurate as an electronic one, but cheaper and less prone to failure.
